Thank you for visiting. Moonrise Grove is a small-batch producer of delicious Mission variety olive oil, from organically certified, century-old trees in the beautiful Capay Valley of Northern California. For anyone familiar with us from the farmers market, you probably know how Moonrise Grove evolved as an all-volunteer effort by a band of Northern California rock climbers who appreciate working hard, playing hard, and the health benefits of olive oil.
We are encouraged and gratified by the loyalty of our growing customer base in the farmer's markets and online. Every day at the farmers market, repeat purchasers of our product let us know how much they love Moonrise Grove olive oil. We also receive great feedback from customers throughout the United States, now that our product oil is scattered far and wide by visitors taking a bit of California home from the markets.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 concerns, Moonrise Grove will not be harvesting olives this fall, and subsequently will not have olive oil available until mid-November, 2021. We wish we had better news. However, you should know that we intend to use the hiatus to improve our olive crop yields for subsequent seasons. Recently, we invested in a thirty-eight foot, articulating, mechanical lift to position harvesters above the treetops for faster, more thorough harvesting with less effort. Also, we have constructed a cold storage room to preserve the quality and availability of our oil season-to-season. During bumper crop years (olives are alternate year bearing), we can produce a large volume of oil (with mechanical assistance during harvesting) to will help smooth out the supply for off-bearing years by utilizing stainless steel containers under rigid temperature control.
